1. Scope of Agreement

By accessing the Meridian Legal website or instructing our counsel, you're entering into a binding agreement. We don't take these responsibilities lightly. This contract governs the use of our proprietary cartographic analysis tools and intellectual property advice. Our team consists of specialist advocates who provide expert opinions on land use planning and boundary disputes.

Have you reviewed the specific requirements for instruction of Counsel in Scotland? We operate primarily through solicitors, though direct access may be possible in limited commercial circumstances.

2. Intellectual Property in Mapping

Cartography is an art as much as a science. All maps, surveys, and legal opinions generated by Meridian Legal remain the intellectual property of the firm until full payment is received. We've spent 12 years perfecting our methods for resolving property line conflicts. Unauthorized reproduction of our digital GIS data or analysis is strictly prohibited. You'll find we're quite protective of our surveyor's marks and historic land records.

3. Limitation of Liability

Legal advice is based on the information provided at the time of consultation. While our accuracy is renowned, Meridian Legal cannot be held liable for inaccuracies arising from outdated land registry data or incorrect client surveyor reports. Professional indemnity is maintained at the level required by the Scottish Bar. Total liability, in any case, shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific instruction in question.

4. Termination of Services

Engagement may be terminated by either party with written notice. We reserve the right to cease representation if a conflict of interest is discovered. It's rare, but it happens. Final billing will be calculated Pro Rata for work completed up to the point of termination.
